On 15-18 February took place the 6th Annual Meeting of Election Management Bodies in Georgia’s Kakheti Region, at Lake Lopota.
The event was organised by our member, the Central Election Commission of Georgia, ICPS and IFES. The topic of this year’s conference was electoral integrity – a key condition of free and fair elections and also of the transparency and accountability of the work of EMBs. More than a hundred participants gathered together at the event representing EMBs and other stakeholders from five continents.
The conference served as an exceptionally effective platform for sharing experiences and good practices promoting electoral integrity. The fruitful and inspiring event became an indelible memory also due to the exceptional hospitality of CEC Georgia.
On behalf of the ACEEEO Secretariat, Zoltán Pozsár-Szentmiklósy, electoral law specialist participated at the event and gave a presentation on the relationship between media access for political parties and free elections.
