5th February 2015.

On 5th February, the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Moldova (CEC) celebrated Global Elections Day. CEC organized a briefing for mass media, where the Chairman, dr. Iurie Ciocan reiterated Commission’s commitment to democratic values and gave assurances that it will maintain and develop an open, transparent and professional institution, always ready to perform tasks at the highest level in an electoral accessible frame.

5th February 2015.

At a special session, with the attendance of the Secretariate staff, the State Election Commission of Macedonia celebrated the Global Elections Day 2015. In his asseveration, the president of the Commission, Mr. Nikola Rilkoski, emphasized the history and the importance of this day, as well as the importance of the elections as fundamental pillar of the democracy in every society worldwide.

5th February 2015.

On 5th February, the Central Election Commission (CEC) celebrated Global Elections Day. At the event the CEC officials hosted students of partner high education institutions.
Giorgi Sharabidze, Deputy Chairperson welcomed the participants of the event and talked about the importance of youth in elections processes.The students also visited the CEC premises and received information about the activities of the election administration and the training center.

First voters are always in focus in the work of ACEEEO. Our partner, the Faculty of Law and Administration Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland started a new project specially for young Polish voters to help them understand democracy and elections. Congratulations to them!

What is the origin of Global Elections Day?

From 14 to 17 September 2005, election experts from all around the world participated in the Global Election Officials Conference in Hungary. Through this conference they sent an important message about the vital need to strengthen the process of democratic development throughout the world. The report of the European Union’s Fundamental Rights Agency

The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) made a report ‘The right to political participation of persons with disabilities: human rights indicators’ that reveals how this right is being respected, promoted and fulfilled across the EU. ACEEEO Secretariat contributed to the drafting process by its experiences in this field.

28 November, 2014, Chisinau, Moldova

On 28 November, 2014 Parliamentary Election was held in Moldova, in one of our member‘s country. There were about 815 international observes. ACEEEO was represented by colleagues from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Russian Federation.

11-12 November 2014, Minsk, Belarus

The Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS Member Nations in co-organization with the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the CIS Execom held an international conference on Electoral Processes across the Commonwealth on 11-12 November 2014, in Minsk, Belarus. On 26 October 2014, early parliamentary elections were held in Ukraine. Upon the invitation of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine several representatives of five Institutional Members of the Association attended the programs organized around E-day.
